HEALTH SERVICES

The Migrant Education Program recognizes that good health is necessary to successful learning; also, that parents are responsible for their children's health. With that in mind, the program can provide supplemental services to assist eligible families meet the health needs of their children. Service is based on greatest need.

Supplemental Services can include:

  • health education focusing on information and skills for staff, parents, and learners.
  • assistance to families to identify their children's health needs, and the services and action needed to meet those needs.
  • service to remediate health problems which interfere with learning, when all resources of the family, the school and the community have been exhausted.

Services that have been provided include arrangements for:

  • vision checkups and/or glasses
  • physicals
  • dental check-ups
  • dental clinic services
